When hikers see the Tyrolean mountains, they get itchy feet. So there's nothing more to do than get out and get climbing! The diverse hiking region of the Kitzbühel Alps beckons, with over 2,500 kilometres of marked hiking trails and routes up to 2,500 metres above sea level!
With the Hopfgarten cable car right next to Das Hohe Salve Sportresort, you can reach the mountain playground of BergWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental in no time. Top Tip: buy a Kitzbüheler Alpen Sommer Card and use all 36 summer cable cars in the Kitzbühel Alps – for never-ending mountains!
You can also take our Move & Relax mountain guides on tour. Our very own running and Nordic walking trail with exercise equipment stations is ideal for taking it step by step and making progress every day. And the Gsundheitsbründlweg walking trail starts in front of the hotel. This easy walking trail leads you round the beautiful Hopfgarten area, with a wonderful view of the mountains.
Fancy a unique summit tour across lush meadows, with the constant babble of mountain streams in your ear? Then take a hike up the Schafsiedel! It has an elevation gain of around 1,144 metres and a drop of around 1,378 metres – get going early, take plenty of water and remember to pack your swimming costume so you can make the most of the three dreamy Wildalmsee lakes up top.
You can get lots more route ideas from us at reception. Keep your fingers crossed for us that we soon get our “Wandergastgeber” certification, the mark of a good hiking hotel. We have already submitted our application and are now just waiting to hear. Hopfgarten itself has long been distinguished as a “Wanderort” – a place you just have to go hiking.
The "G'sundheitsbründlweg" directly at Das Hohe Salve presents the idyllic side of Hopfgarten. It is named after the "G'sundheitsbründl", a small fountain with crystal clear water. This gives you strength for the way ahead and ensures well-deserved refreshment. The circular hiking trail leads through the forest for about 1 hour. There you will find various training stations, such as the balance park where the whole family can demonstrate their balance. Or the pull-up and push-up station, where your strength is required. You will also find comfortable benches and loungers for a short or long break. The wonderfully staged distant views show our surroundings and thus form the perfect photo spots.
The peculiarity of the hiking trail is provided not only by the various stations but also by the many entry points. You can also set your own pace, speed and intensity.
